This year’s McDonalds W.O.N. (Women’s Owner/Operators Network) Conference was held recently at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona. The theme of the conference, “Together Taking Charge of Our Tomorrow” was very relevant in this business environment with speaker sessions and workshops assisting Owners/operators take charge of their business now and grow future sales and revenue. Jim Skinner, CEO of McDonalds was one of many keynote speakers during the four day conference.
The conference had around 600 attendees from all over the country and more than 40 booths with Garda being one of only two ‘smart safe’ suppliers.
“This conference is not only for the membership but puts a lot of focus on the supplier partners that support the infrastructure of the restaurants,” observed Account Representative Judy Cahoone, who represented Garda Cash Logistics at the conference. “They work hard to put on a business conference that supports all 3 legs of the “3-legged stool” to enhance the partnership between McDonalds corporate, the owners/operators and the suppliers.”
The agenda included quality time with the suppliers both during all meals and breaks as well as a “breakout” during breakout sessions. The exhibit area and the general session ballroom were on the same floor mere steps from each other. As in previous years, the conference offered incentives for owners visit supplier booths and to spend time in the exhibit area.
“Represented Garda Cash Logistics, we had the opportunity to discuss and demonstrate our CashLINK solution on the Garda CMS 9520 safe,” Judy noted. “More than 50 franchisees visited the booth and enjoyed participating in our business card raffle drawing for a Garda backpack, perfect for storing all of their convention materials.”
Stephanie Bishop, Owner/Operator of J & M-5 of West Frankfort, I.L. was the winner of the Garda backpack through the business card raffle. In addition, Garda Cash Logistics was proud to contribute an iPad2 to the W.O.N. Conference raffle drawing, won by Tara Leigh Caldwell of MaZT of Sacramento, CA.
